Hubert,
This rocks!
You are an inspiration and good friend.
I am going for a jog in the rain and am going to think about what cool things I can spend money on next.
Talk soon,

I like the shot! Usually when art directors select the photos, they would also consider what their audience would want to see, so it’s not always at their will.
That’s probably why your best photos are not always the ones being used…
Awesome. All of it. Every single post. And your freakin’ layout too… I am having blog envy now : ) Glad you have stepped up the blogging heat. I am inspired.
And I am curious to know if you still have the Hasselblad digital back, or if I made that up. If you do have it, how’s it working out for you?
Thanks for the kind words! Come on you know this whole blog is inspired by your work. You’ve been sending out that blogging heat to all of us!
I only recently got a digital back for my Hasselblad (Phase One P20). It’s about 4-5 years old so I got a smoking deal on it. When focused properly at low ISO I love the quality more than my D3x. Focus and low iso being the key word. I know it’s the same body, but focus is a lot more critical with the digital back than with the the film back. I am lucky if I get 50% sharp hand held with the digital back. ISO 50-400 is just fine. New backs probably have better iso than this oldie. The widest lens for my 500CM is 40mm, which becomes something like a 60mm after the 1.5X crop factor. It’s fine though. I just pretend it’s a rollefilx and wide angle is not even a question. I love it when it works, kinda like the Rollie :)
You would know. You got some magazine insider info :) This is why I set up this blog… to show some work that never made it to the final selects. I wanted to call them B-roll material, but the truth is often times I love them more than the client hero shots.
Cheers Kevin! Haha yes I am trying to get this blog going. Still feeling my way around. Thanks for checking it out! Been incredibly lucky to be so busy. I am working on a brand new website so come back some time for some brand new work.
